Continuing a Legacy of Innovation
Modern induction forging owes its existence to a small group of innovators who transformed an industrial technology into a craftsperson’s tool.
Each played a vital part in shaping what induction forging has become today.
Grant Sarver – Off-Center Products (OCP)
Grant was the pioneer. A blacksmith and problem-solver, he bridged the supply gap between traditional fuel forges and high-frequency induction. Through years of experimentation, he adapted industrial induction units for real forge work, creating the foundation of the modern induction forge movement. His contribution remains the cornerstone of everything that followed.
Larry Langdon – MonsterMetal
After Grant’s passing, Larry ensured that the knowledge and hardware didn’t disappear. His efforts kept the technology available to working smiths, maintaining the link between community innovation and practical supply.
Gene Olson – MettleWorks
Gene continued to serve the community by supporting users, parts, and knowledge during the transitional years that followed. His work helped preserve the craft’s connection to induction technology when it might otherwise have been lost.
Picking Up the Torch
At InductionForges.com, we’re proud to carry this legacy forward.
Our goal is simple: to make induction forging accessible, dependable, and properly supported.
We honour those who came before by continuing to refine, document, and share induction technology with the next generation of smiths and metalworkers.
This is our commitment:
to preserve the heritage, build upon it, and ensure that induction forging remains a living, evolving part of the craft.
